Chef Adam Navidi named “Chef of the year 2018”  by the Southern California Food Writers Association

 

A Message from Chef Navidi

Being a chef is a lot like being a writer. It's telling your story of who you are, where you come from, and the memories you will never forget! The O&E story started when I was 20 years old and cooking at a four-star country club in Bend, Oregon called Broken Top. My parents were visiting me at the restaurant, so I prepared and served them a six-course dinner, finished with a Bay Leaf infused Creme Brule table-side. My mother asked me if I opened a restaurant, what would I call it and I replied, "Oceans & Earth" because of the love I have for surfing and snowboarding and my concern about the future of our Mother Earth.

I also loved surf-n-turf dishes and thought it was a cool play on words! The promise was made to my mother I would open one in our hometown of Yorba Linda. 20 years later, I kept that promise and thanks to the support of the local community, our family of regulars and those who have traveled from near and far, we've been able to deliver a restaurant concept that is one of a kind!

As we look back on 2023, we are thankful to be busy, healthy and honored to be giving back by participating in close to 20 charity events a year! From War Heroes on the Water, Illumination Foundation, Farm + Food Lab, Culinary Scholarship Fund to Kid Works, just to name a few.

Oceans and Earth is the premier farm to table and seafood dining experience in all of Southern California!

Located in Yorba Linda, Oceans and Earth offers organic dining from Chef Adam Navidi’s owned and operated award winning aquaponic garden.

The name Oceans & Earth was created to showcase the relationship we have with Nature! Through the research we are doing at our farm to the transparent business model we have created we are doing our part to help educate the next generation on how humans and nature evolve together in sync with each other!

As a farmer, I'm reminded every day how nature teaches us patience and perseverance! Fall is time for planning and planting as the cooler weather helps us increase production of leafy greens while still enjoying the 300+ vine-ripe tomato plants growing undercover. I enjoy the cooler days and extra hands that volunteer during this time of year to help at my aquaponic farm, Future Foods Farms. It's our vision at O&E to build a small greenhouse on the patio where we can build community and showcase our state of the art growing methods, if you would like to learn more or get involved please let us know!
